A live minimap
An overlay that follows you through Hadea: doors, ladders, merchants, stashes and the pins you place yourself, with a route drawn along the walkable ground to wherever you point.
A companion for Hell Is Us · PC
Hadea was built to get you lost. hiumod is there for the night you'd rather not be: a live minimap, a quest tracker that follows the story, and answers to the vaults — each one hidden until you open it.
Free and open source · Windows 10/11 · Steam version · Not affiliated with Rogue Factor or Nacon
Hell Is Us takes away the minimap, the quest markers and the hand-holding, and that's the point: your notes and your memory do the guiding. Most of the time it works. Then you put the game down for two weeks, come back, and don't know where the Timeloop was or whose son you were meant to find.
hiumod runs beside the game as its own window. It reads what the game already knows — where you are, what you've found, which quests are open — and shows only what you ask it to. Close it and the game is exactly as Rogue Factor made it.
An overlay that follows you through Hadea: doors, ladders, merchants, stashes and the pins you place yourself, with a route drawn along the walkable ground to wherever you point.
The main story step by step, in the game's own words: where to go next and what to bring, revealed one step at a time, so nothing ahead spoils itself.
Every open quest in your journal, updated as you play, with the people, places and items it mentions — and the ones you can still miss before a point of no return.
Every dial, keypad and item placement in the game, and the codes of the six Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge drawn as the game's symbols. Each answer stays covered until you click it.
Collectibles by region, the enemy groups still left for the every-Hollow achievement, NPCs with more to tell, and your Steam achievements with progress.
Everything follows the language set in the game, in all twelve it ships with, using the game's own names for places, people and things.
Every answer starts hidden. Open the vault you're standing at and nothing else; the rest of the list stays as unknown as it was. The example on the right is a made-up code.
Example vault
Get the latest zip from the Releases page and unpack it anywhere. It only ever writes to the Mods folder in the game directory.
It starts the game through Steam if it isn't running and attaches once you're in. Press ` (the key left of 1) to show or hide the panel. Ctrl+` opens a console for checking things.
The first time you control the hero, hiumod reads the game's maps and text into the Mods folder on its own (about two minutes). If the .NET 8 runtime is missing, the panel offers to install it.
No. Hell Is Us deliberately has no map, compass or quest markers. hiumod adds an optional minimap overlay and a quest tracker on PC for players who want one.
The codes are spread through Hadea as notes and inscriptions. hiumod lists the code for every vault as the game's symbols, each hidden until you choose to reveal it.
Hell Is Us is single-player with no anti-cheat and no online play, and hiumod changes no game files. As with any third-party tool, use it at your own discretion.
hiumod is tested against a specific Steam build and tells you when the game has been updated since. After an update it reads the game's data again by itself; anything that breaks is fixed in a new release.
All twelve of the game's languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Turkish. It follows the language set in the game.
